2019 has been busy! Sorry for the delay in our updates. 2019 started off busy with Ned working full time in the administration and accounting office here. Debbie is still leading the Thursday evening Character Club time for the younger kids, working in personnel, staffing the English school with organizing extra-curricular activities and setting up summer teams. Jesse is super busy with baseball, school and work. He was able to go the Bahamas and play in a MJBL tournament to commemorate the organization that provides an opportunity for any and all players to play baseball regardless of status or station in life. As a result of raising money for his baseball trip, Jesse worked for 2 months at a local health clinic. What a great experience for him. It is a definite season of trusting the Lord that we are making a difference with the people that we interact with on a daily or weekly basis. Ned is still a source of fatherly advice to those who come and chat with him about what is going on in their lives. Debbie has a growing voice in the life of the young people at CC and the ELC. We find ourselves hosting and often feeding Jesse's teammates and our co-workers in a family setting in our home. Serving God as a Family as He Sees Fit has been our motto since our adventure in missions began over 10 years ago. As our family environment has changed over the past 10+ years, we still value family and try our best to incorporate a healthy family environment where we love and respect each other to all of those around. Sharing the love and forgiveness of Jesus is our daily goal in whatever way we can. | | A little bit of raw honesty here.... Please pray for us! This has been one of the hardest times that we have had in the past 10 years in missions. We moved back to the states to be obedient to what God was telling us would be the best thing for Jesse. Our time here in Richmond has been amazing for Jesse and we have enjoyed seeing him grow and return to his previous enthusiastic self. This time has been very hard for us financially. As volunteer staff who have to rely on outside support from churches and people, we are really struggling to pay our monthly bills much less anything else. We are full-time missionaries who's mission field is currently Richmond, Virginia. This time has also been hard spiritually and emotionally as we have worked to fit into a new area and culture that we have not been familiar with. So please pray for us as we seek God's wisdom and guidance as to what is next. If you would like more details please email or call sometime. Also please be in prayer for our finances and opportunities to share what we are doing with others. Financial support is greatly needed at this time. Both one-time gifts and monthly contributions. tax deductible gifts can be given here: https://ywamva.givingfuel.com/ned-debbie-walker or paypal: Walker5forGod@yahoo.com | | | | | |
What are the Walkers doing right now?
We are moving!!
The last week of August, our family will be moving long-term to Santiago, Dominican Republic. We will be working with YWAM Santiago and the Martin Family! We are super excited about this transition. But also praying for wisdom as we figure out visa's, residency, what to do with our things, etc...
As always, we are praying that the Lord will use us wherever we are!
Lord, help us not to miss the things you have prepared for us to do!
